The more you get to know about Excel spreadsheet programs, the more you want to try your hand at using one. If you’re anything like me, you’ve got a lot of questions that need answered when it comes to finding the right program.
Let’s start with what a spreadsheet is – a useful thing, even if it’s not really that important. In other words, don’t worry too much about how many rows and columns you have – a good spreadsheet program should be able to automatically generate an appropriate number of columns or rows. Keep that in mind when you’re reading the reviews.
You will need to set up a basic structure for your spreadsheet and then populate the database with a range of interesting data that you’re going to want to keep organized. What I mean by “interesting” is that the more advanced you get, the more you’re going to want to be able to do with your spreadsheet.

Even if you’re not a big fan of Excel, if you want to try out a simple spreadsheet program, I strongly recommend using one of the Microsoft products. They have a great suite of free tools available and it’s hard to beat their price.
Quality is another issue. If you’re having trouble creating some reports, you may find yourself wishing that a little Excel add-in could come along and solve the problem. Don’t despair, though – there are all kinds of programs out there that you can download from the Internet and use on a day-to-day basis.
One of these programs is called “ChartOne.” If you’ve seen the adverts, you’ll know that this program is absolutely loaded with features. It’s also really easy to use.
What it does is generate charts and graphs for any data that you enter into it. In fact, it’s probably the best one out there for making very basic data entry.
It is, however, the kind of program that I’d consider a bit “deep”. I wouldn’t suggest it for someone who wants to get really advanced with their business.
Ditto is one that I really like. Its features are similar to ChartOne but it doesn’t allow you to get too fancy.
If you do decide to use one of these programs, you can rest assured that you won’t have to pay a fortune to get all of the bells and whistles you want. You simply have to use a few simple steps to convert it to a great Excel spreadsheet program.
Once you’ve done that, you’ll find that Ditto has a great little interface and so you’ll be able to get started on making a spreadsheet that is pretty much up to par with the top software on the market.
